Gita Daan on Sarasvati Puja Vasant Panchami
The Srimad Bhagavatam (1.2.7) states: By rendering devotional service to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Sri Krishna, one automatically acquires knowledge and detachment from the material world.
Thus, Sarasvati Puja is an opportunity to glorify the Supreme Lord as the fountainhead of all knowledge and to seek His blessings in developing true spiritual wisdom through the study of scriptures such as Bhagavad-gita and Srimad Bhagavatam.
One of the most significant activities on Vasant Panchami is the offering of Bhagavad-gita to the world, known as Gita Daan. The Bhagavad-gita, spoken by Lord Krishna, is the ultimate scripture of spiritual enlightenment, guiding humanity towards self-realization and devotion. If one reads Bhagavad-gita sincerely, the reaction of past misdeeds will not act upon him.
Gita Daan is not just an act of charity but a service to the world, enlightening souls and bringing them closer to Krishna.
On this auspicious day let us engage in the mass distribution of Bhagavad-gita schools, colleges, friends, family, hospitals, tribal villages to encourage people to take up the path of bhakti.
Lord Krishna guaranteed in Bhagavad Gita 18.68-69: "For one who explains this supreme secret to the devotees, pure devotional service is guaranteed, and at the end, he will come back to Me, Lord Krishna. There is no one in this world more dear to Me (Lord Krishna) than he, nor will there ever be one more dear."
