Who Is Krishna
The name Krishna literally means “all-attractive.” Krishna is all-powerful, all-knowing and the most beautiful Person. Krishna explains in the ancient Vedic scripture Bhagavad-gita, that one can understand Him through the process of bhakti-yoga. Bhagavad-gita explains that the goal of life is to develop love of God which is realized through practice of devotional service. Bhakti-yoga aims to spiritualize all human activities and achieve spiritual understanding, unity and peace through medication and chanting the names of Lord Krishna.
Krishna is also known by other names such as Jehnovah, Allah, Buddha, etc. The various qualities and pastimes of Lord Krishna are explained in detailed in the ancient Vedic scripture Srimad Bhagavatam (Tenth Canto).
Lord Krishna says in the Bhagavad-gita (Verse 7.7) ‘mattah parateram nanyat’ – there is no truth superior to me. Krishna says “I am the compiler of the Vedas and I am the goal of the Vedas.”
