Well wishers and devotees honor Srila Prabhupada
Several devotees, well-wishers and congregation members gathered to honor A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, founder-acarya of ISKCON on his 115th appearance day on 23 August 2011.
The day began on a special note as the devotees has the opportunity to hear the mangala arati sung by Srila Prabhupada and later followed by a video recording of Srimad Bhagavatam discourse by Srila Prabhupada.
Several devotees including senior disciples of Srila Prabhupada glorified him while the guests relished the nectar of Srila Prabhupada’s glorious pastimes. More than 1008 bhoga items prepared by Deity kitchen, Govinda’s, temple sweet stall and bakery, congregation members and guest were offered out as a token of love for Srila Prabhupada.
During the evening festivities more than 200 congregation devotees and well -wishers took advantage of the special opportunity to personally perform Kalash abhishek for Srila Prabhupada followed by a pushpa (flower) abhishek and 108 lamps arati.
Srila Prabhupada had deep faith in the power of Krishna prasada and every person who visited the temple on his Vyasa puja day had the opportunity to partake meal prasada which was organized by ISKCON Food for Life.
