Teaching of Kunti Maharani
A three-day Bhagavad-katha by on ‘Teaching of Kunti Maharani’ by HG Devakinandan Das was held from 14 – 16 June, 2013.
HG Devakinandan Das opened his katha by describing Prita’s (Kuntidevi’s) childhood and her life and character as a Rajkumari. Over the next two days he spoke about Kuntidevi as a Queen and Rajmata. He explained how hardships befell upon her soon after her marriage to Pandu, when he died and she was entrusted with the responsibility of the her five sons. He thereafter spoke about her as the mother of King Yudhistir who always remained surrendered at the lotus feet of Lord Krishna.
HG Devakinandan Das explained how Kuntidevi saw extreme hardships in all stages of her life. However, in all her difficulties she surrendered to Lord Krishna and thus though she seemed to be suffering, her suffering was actually a sadhana (meditation on the Lord) which brought her great spiritual happiness.
