Srila Prabhupada Remembered on His Disappearance Day
The disappearance day of A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada was celebrated on 7 November 2013 with the first arati of the day – mangala-arati being led by Srila Prabhupada himself. Celebrations in the morning began with a hariman procession on the Juhu beach with the deity of Srila Prabhupada. After a special guru-puja, special video lecture by Srila Prabhupada enlightened devotees who listened with rapt attention in the temple hall. Several senior devotees like HG Narsimhananda Das, HG Mahaprabhu Das, Mr. Brijmohan Sethi and others shared remembrances of Srila Prabhupada.
An outstanding offering of hundreds of bhoga (foodstuffs) items contributed by congregation devotees, pujari, Govinda’s bakery and sweet stall was made to Srila Prabhupada in the temple room followed by arati and flower offering by all.
A special arati was held at Srila Prabhupada Quarters near his bed at 7:20pm – the time he left this world in 1977 in the holy land of Vrindavan. HG Narottama Das and HG Narsimhananda Das spoke about their memoires with Srila Prabhupada. The program concluded a special video on the passing away of Srila Prabhupada by ISKCON Television.
