Sri Narsimha Caturdasi Celebrated
The appearance day of Lord Narsimha, the protector of all devotees, was celebrated on 24 May this year. Devotees fasted until dusk and engaged in chanting, services at the temple and reading about the glories of Sri Narsimhadev. The morning part of the day long celebrations began with Mangala-arati, followed by Sringar darshan, Guru puja and an enlightening discourse on the glories of Sri Narsimhadev by HG Devakinandan Das. He spoke about the appearance, pastimes and qualities of Lord Narsimhadev.
The grand evening festivities opened with the Dhwaja aroha (flag hoisting) celebration. Devotees cheered as they witnessed all the Deity altars being transformed into fragrant flower bungalows when the altar doors opened during the evening darshan. Congregation devotees along with members of the pujari department worked for over 2 days to coordinate the flower decotion.
Several resident and congregation devotees participate in the purifying Narsimha yajna held in the temple courtyard followed by Maha-abhishek of Sri Laxmi-Narsimha and Sri Narsimha Shaligram Deities on the temple altar. Hundreds of visitors joined in the evening Maha-arati by clapping, singing and dancing. Devotees broke their fast at dusk with a delicious feast that awaited them in the temple terrace.
