Splendid Ramnavmi Celebrated
Lord Ramachandra appeared as the son of King Dasharath and Queen Kaushalya in the dynasty of Sun-god. He is an incarnation of the Lord who appeared in Treta-yuga as an ideal king who exhibited high standard of morality and virtue.
The appearance day of Lord Rama is known as Ramnavami and was celebrated on 20 April this year. The festivities at the temple included Shobha yatra on Juhu Beach with the Deities of Sri Sri Sita Rama Laxman. Several hundred citizens of Mumbai performed the Kalash abhishek ceremony for Sri Sri Sita Rama which was followed by Maha-abhishek on the main temple altar.
Special darshan facility and lunch prasada was arranged for Life Patrons who came in thousands for darshan. Sparkling lights and colorful flower decoration in the temple courtyard against the backdrop of the white marble temple arches added special special effects to the enchanting boat festival pastime wherein the Deities of Sri Sri Sita Rama Laxman were ferried in the swan shaped boat.
HG Gaura Krishna, a senior Vaishnava, enlightened one and all with his Rama-katha narration from 17 – 21 April. Members of the ISKCON Youth Forum performed an enlightening drama based on the pastimes of Lord Rama killing Bali at ISKCON Auditorium.
The highlight of the festival was extensive distribution of hot meal prasada to every person who visited the temple. The Food for Life department worked round the clock to prepare the meals which consisted of rice, dal, subji, puri and halava and were served out hot in the morning and evening.
