Purushottama Ekadasi Draws Thousands to Temple
A great number of people visited the temple on 12 September 2012 on occasion of Ekadasi (eleventh lunar day of the bright or dark fortnight of every lunar month) during the special Purushottama Adhika Masa (month). This year Purushottama Adhika month is celebrated from 18 August to 16 September 2012.
People from all walks of life visited the temple throughout the day to get loving darshan of Sri Sri Radha Rasabihariji who stood graciously on Their altar in red and green outfits and bestowed much mercy on Their worshippers. Visitors offered flowers, fruits and various other articles on the temple altar for the pleasure of the Lord. Groups of worshippers circumulated the Deities, chanted Hare Krishna mantra and spent considerable time sitting in the temple hall soaking in the divine vibration. The temple especially saw a rush of people during the noon and evening arati.
Of all months, Purusottama is Krishna’s favorite month. Lord Sri Krishna is known Purusottama. Purusottama month is considered to be far superior to any other pious months in Vaishnava or Vedic calendar. It is considered that one who renders service to Sri Sri Radha Krishna during Purushottama month burns up all bad karma (sinful reactions) and attains service of the Lord.
