Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra Celebrated
The temple celebrated its annual Lord Jagannath Rath yatra on 2 February 2013. The Deities of Lord Jagannath, Baladev and Subhadra which were recently installed at the Bhaktivedanta Swami Mission School (Shastri Nagar, Andheri) were brought to ISKCON Juhu for the festival. The celebrations began on 1 February with offering of basketfulsof Chappan Bhoga (56 foodstuffs) to Lord Jagannath, Baladev and Subhadradevi which included savories, sweets, fruits and much more.
On 2 February, Hare Krishna Land was packet with well-wishers and devotees by noon who were ready to pull the chariot of Lord Jagannath, Baladev and Subhadra not only unto the streets of Mumbai but also in their order doxycycline no prescription hearts. Besides sannyasis and senior devotees, the Guest Chiefs which included Shri Subodh Kant Sahay, Union Cabinet Minister;Shri Satyapal Singh, Police Commissioner of Mumbai; Actress Smt. Hema Malini, Actor Govinda, Mrs Manjistha Bhatt, Regional Director – Indian Council For Cultural Relations – Maharashtra; Dr Mrs Anjana Srivastav and Shri Ashokbhau Jadhav – MLA congratulated ISKCON Juhu for hosting the devotionally inspiring festival and urged the citizens of Mumbai to participate in the festivities. The Rath yatra which commenced from ISKCON Juhu concluded at Lokhandwala Gardens and was followed by congregation chanting (harinam procession) and a stage program in the evening at Lokhandawala Garden on 3 February.
