Members of Nilachal Dham Farm rescued five cows and three bulls from slaughter. Some merciless butchers were taking the cows and bulls in a van from Dahanu to Mumbai but panicked when they saw a Police Station en route at Dhundalwadi. In an attempt to evade the police they tried to steer away their van but were unsuccessful as their van toppled and injured the animals.
Members of Nilachal Dham Farm reached the site and with police permission took charge of the animals and nursed them at Nilachal Dham. Many of the cows and bulls were weak and had to be tended to carefully for a couple of week to regain accutane online prices their health. A week after being rescued one of the rescued pregnant cow gave birth to a calf on the auspicious day of Bhaktisiddanta Saraswati Thakur (the spiritual master of Srila Prabhupada). A newborn calf was thus named Siddhanta.
Nilachal Dham Farm runs the ‘Highway to Happyway’ initiative which rescues and rehabilitates cows and bulls who are injured on highways or attacked by butchers.
