Gaura Purima Celebrated : This year Gaur Purnima was celebrated on 28 February 2010. Festivities at the temple began from early morning and shall included a Shobha yatra (procession of Deities of Sri Sri Gaur Nitai in a beautifully decorated palanquin), darshan of Their Lordships in Their new outfits specifically designed for the occasion, maha-abhishek of Sri Sri Gaur Nitai followed by maha-arati and scrumptious prasadam feast for all.
Another special highlight of the event was Gaur-katha (narration of pastimes of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu) from 22 - 28 February 2010 from 8am. For pictures kindly click here

Advaita Krishna prabhu (BCS) passes away
In the early hours of this auspicious Amalaki-Vrata Ekadasi Day (25-02-2010), when it was time for Mangal Arati, the great soul of H.G. Advaita KrishnaDas left his mortal body. He was residing at Sri Sri Radha Rasabihari Temple, Mumbai.
Before coming to the Krishna Consciousness, he was a Dock Engineer in the Port Trust, Mumbai and has extensively travelled in India as well as abroad. He hails from a religious family settled in Visakapattinam, Andhra Pradesh.>>read more

On Friday, January 29, 2010, ISKCON Juhu, Mumbai celebrated its 30th annual Jagannath Rathayatra festival.
The Rathayatra festival was inaugurated by Ashokbhau Jadhav, the local state legislator, and Sri Dilip Patel, the chairman of the Mumbai transit authority, in a pandal tent erected in front of the Juhu temple guest house entrance.>>read more
Lord Nityananda appearance day celebrated
Devotees at ISKCON Juhu celebrated Lord Nityananda Apperance day on 28 January 2010 with great pomp and gaiety. HH Kavichandra Swami and HH Navyogendra Swami elaborated on the pastimes of Lord Nityananda during the morning Srimad Bhagavatam class. Auspicious Dhwaja Adorns Temple Domes at ISKCON Juhu
Devotees at ISKCON Juhu celebrated the 32nd Anniversary of Sri Sri Radha Rasabihari temple on the festive occasion of Makar Sankranti on 14 January 2010.
Makar Sankranti, which falls on 14 January every year, marks the entry of Sun-God in the Northern Hemisphere and is celebrated throughout India with much gaiety and pomp.>>read more
Transcendental New Year 2010 Party
Over 900 citizens of Mumbai brought in the New Year at ISKCON Juhu beginning with the divine darshan of Sri Sri Radha Rasabihari and in association of the devotees.
The full moon night and the open air set up provided a wonderful backdrop to the enjoyable evening. The party commenced (at 8pm) with guest putting their skills to test with four different transcendental games namely ‘Rare Human Birth’, ‘Picture Perfect’, ‘Arcanam’ and ‘Soul Matters’ which were based on spiritual concepts. Audiences were kept enthralled with variety entertainment based on ‘Going back to Goloka Vrindavan’ theme coordinated by Krishnamayi devi dasi.>>read more

The management and devotees from ISKCON Juhu visited Arthur Road Jail and University of Mumbai on 28 November 2009 to distribute Bhagavad-gita on the occasion of Gita Jayanti.

Bhaktivedanta Swami School celebrates Govardhan Puja
On Friday, October 9th, 2009, the students, teachers and parents of the Bhaktivedanta Swami Mission School celebrated Govardhan Puja with great aplomb and splendor. It was the last day of school before breaking for the Diwali vacations.
The school management divided the teachers into three teams to systematically celebrate the pastime of Lord Krishna lifting the Govardhan Hill. One team prepared a life-like model of Govardhan after having studied the history, layout and stories connected with each site on Govardhan Hill. Another team cooked halava, sweets and saffron rice (kesar bhat) and assembling the Govardhan Hill with the same.>>read more
Upcoming GBC Meetings
ISKCON Juhu shall host the GBC Meetings dedicated to Strategic Planning from 12 - 17 October 2009.
ISKCON's GBC (Govering Body Commission) and was founded by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada since 1970 to manage the movement with the aim to help its members to factually become conscious of Krishna and love for Him. The GBC meeting are held annually in Mayapur during the Gaura Purnima festival.
The meetings in Mumbai are specifically dedicated to Strategic Planning, in other words, planning for the future direction and management of ISKCON, beyond the life span of any person or group of persons. Various sub-committees and committees shall meet and review their goals and its fulfillment during the upcoming meeting.
Kartik: the most auspicious month
The month of Kartik, also known as the month of Damodar is described in the scriptures as the best month for performing austerities. The Kartik month is particularly dear to Lord Krishna. The Kartik month is best, the purest of purifiers and the most glorious of all months. The essence is to engage in more devotional practice during this month.>>read more
Maha Harinam on Juhu Beach
MAHA HARINAM ON JUHU BEACH
The devotees from all the four temples in Mumbai, namely Juhu, Chowpatty, Khargar and Mira Road, joined together to perform harinam on Juhu beach on Sunday 20th September. Thousands of devotees delighted beach goers and their children with loud thunderous chanting of the Maha mantra to celebrate “World Holy Name Week”.
The beautiful sound of the Lords Holy names created a transcendental atmosphere on the beach as the golden sun sank slowly into the Arabian Sea. Utsav murtis of Lord Chaitanya and Lord Nityananda were carried in a flower bedecked palanquin above the sea of dancing devotee heads late after sunset to bring love of Krishna and light to the evening beach dwellers searching for happiness.
Mumbai's Four ISKCON Centers celebrate WHNW 2009
In Mumbai, ISKCON's four centers conducted four separate Harinams (street chanting of the holy names of God accompanied by mrdangas and kartalas)during the fortnight from September 12 to September 20. The unlimited mercy of the compassionate Lord flowed and flowed as thousands participated in well-organized festivals.

Mumbai Part of Global Chant-Fest
The Mumbai chapter of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) will observe “World Holy Name Week,” a celebration of the spiritual practice of chanting God’s names beginning from 6 – 20 September 2009.
The event also marks the 50th Anniversary of ISKCON’s founder-acarya, Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada ‘s accepting vows of renunciation, or sanyasa, thus launching his mission to spread the chanting of God’s names around the world.>>read more
Radharani Adorns Outfits by India’s Youngest Fashion Designer
Srimati Radharani expressed her inconceivable benevolence to India’s youngest fashion designer Nishka Lulla when she benignly adorned the outfit designed by Nishka on Her auspicious appearance day – Radhastami which fell on 27 August 2009 this year.
Nishka won the ‘Creative Excellence Award’ for the Barbie all Doll’d–up show at the Lakme India Fashion Week 2009 where many of India’s leading designers participated to design an outfit for Barbie for her 50th anniversary.>>read more

ISKCON Juhu shall celebrate the Jhulan-yatra festival from 1-5 August 2009 . Chaturmasya period begins
Guru Purnima, which fell on 7 July this year, also marks the beginning of the four months of Chaturmasya period . Srila Prabhupada explains the meaning and the purpose of Chaturmasya in the Sri Caitanya Caritamrita Madhya - lila 4.169 purport:
"The Chaturmasya period begins in the month of Asadha (June-July) from the day of Ekadasi called Sayana-ekadasi, in the fortnight of the waxing moon. The period ends in the month of Kartika (October-November) on the Ekadasi day known as Utthana-ekadasi, in the fortnight of the waxing moon.>>read more
Devotees participation in Gundica Cleaning
Resident and congregation devotees, temple management and a few visitors came together to enthusiastically participate in the Gundica Marjana festival which was observed on 23 June 2009.
While the pujaris cleaned the main altar, several other devotees scrubbed clean Prabhupada’s Vyasasana, the marble pillars, courtyard, stairways, floor and the parikrama path. Many department members also cleaned their respective offices.>>read more

This year Nirjala Ekadasi was on 3 June 2009. Nirjala Ekadasi is an extraordinary Ekadasi where devotees fast not only from grains but also from water.

Historical Chandan Yatra Celebrations at ISKCON Juhu
After a week of intense sandalwood grinding by devotees and congregation members at Srila Prabhupada Quarters, the paste was ready for Sri Sri Gaur Nitai, Sri Sri Radha Rasabihari and Sri Sri Sita Rama Laxman Hanuman. For the first time in its history, ISKCON Juhu celebrated chandan yatra on 17 May 2009 . After mangala arati, Bhima prabhu (Zonal Secretary) along with several other brahmana initiated devotees, applied chandan to all the Deities. All devotees eagerly beholded the Divine darshan of the Lord during Sringar-darshan and danced joyously to the melodious kirtan.>>read more

Devotees at Sri Sri Radha Rasabihari temple celebrated Sitanavami on Sunday, 3 May 2009. Sitanavami is auspicious day of the appearance of Srimati Sitadevi, the eternal consort of Lord Rama.

ISKCON Juhu hosted Japa Marathon on 1st May, 2009 which was Public Holiday.
